KARACHI: A night cricket match between teams comprising politicians, bureaucrats, artistes and former cricketing greats will be organized at the National Stadium in connection with the Ramazan festivities in the city.

This was announced by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani at a meeting of Divisional Sports Committee held at his office on Monday.

He said that the purpose of the match is add to the Ramazan festivities during the holy month at night which is the characteristic of Karachi city which remains abuzz with night cricket tournaments all month long.

Prominent Sports organisers will be the coordinator for the event.

It was also announced that Olympian Islahuddin Siddiqui Hockey tournament will be organized at Hockey Club of Pakistan in the holy month.

The meeting was attended by DC South Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, SSP Junaid Ahmed.SAJAS Secretary Asghar Azim, Asif Azim, Assistant Commissioner Aijaz Hussain and others.

The Commissioner said that CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor and Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah are all keen for promotion of sports in the city which will help restore peace and harmony in the society.
