ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed concern over what he called the delay in rescue and relief operation for the people of Balochistan who have been marooned by recent flash floods triggered by torrential rains and heavy snowfall.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the PPP chief said that the rulers should not close their eyes to the people stranded in the chilly weather.

The PPP leader said that the people stranded in heavy rains and snowfall were waiting for immediate rescue and relief operation from the government. The PPP chief expressed grief and sympathies with those families who had lost their loved ones in torrential rains and flash floods in Balochistan.

According to media reports, over 10,000 houses have been affected due to current wave of harsh weather in the province causing loss of lives and property.

Meanwhile, members of security forces have been moved to assist the civil administration in rescue and relief operation for flood victims in various parts of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
