Welcome to Awaran

Published February 17, 2019

AWARAN is a part of the Kalat division and is a district in the south of Balochistan. It was created in Nov 1992 and, according to the 2017 census, has a population of 121,680. When we talk about district Awaran, two words come in our mind — backward and troubled.

Unemployment in Awaran portrays a bleak picture. If Balochistan’s ministers had taken swift actions instead of indulging in talks then maybe the situation might have been different.

Recently, I saw a post on social media which claimed that more than 8,000 jobs would be announced in our province’s education department. For years, thousands of jobs have been announced for Balochistan but it upsets me to see that nothing came of it.

I request the Balochistan government to come up with ways to engage the youth and follow up on their promises.
