HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old deaf and mute woman was murdered in Sawan Khaskheli village of Kotri’s SITE area on Saturday. She was identified as Shireen Brohi.

She was alone in her house when some suspects barged into her house and tried to molest her. She was strangulated to death when she resisted the attempt, police said.

A post-mortem examination of the body was performed and the DNA sample was also taken by experts from the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, they added.

Jamshoro SSP Tauqeer Naeem said that a suspect was arrested. He said signs of resistance were visible on the victim’s body.
