APROPOS to the news item ‘Who really pulls the trigger’ (Jan 29) which highlighted the extra-judicial murders of the innocent peoples by the police authorities. This ruthless attitude of the police officers could suppress criminals but it cannot do away the criminal mindset.
Inversely it will bring out the weaknesses of the system.
Therefore, the officials should be mindful of this fact that their function is to rehabilitate the criminal mindset as well which is permanent solution. A long term strategy to bring, the criminal in the mainstream, is the need of the nation.
