LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday sought reports from the police of the districts on kite flying and directed strict implementation of law prohibiting the sport.

He expressed strong indignation over the incidents of kite flying in Lahore and other districts of the province. He said the violators of the ban should be prosecuted under the law and the injured be provided with best treatment facilities.

DIGITISATION: Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar called on State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Tariq Bajwa and discussed digitisation of agriculture projects in the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bajwa assured the CS that the SBP would provide all kind of support for digitisation of agriculture projects in Punjab.

The chief secretary asked the secretary agriculture to prepare a comprehensive plan for the digitization of the projects. He said initially the digitisation would be completed in two tehsils of Punjab as pilot project and later would be replicated in other districts of the province.

Mr Khokhar said improvement in agriculture sector was a priority of the government and concrete steps were needed to be taken for well-being of the farmers. He mentioned the digitisation would help achieve the required results. He said the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) was working on provision of facility of ‘Fard’ at 15 banks to facilitate people, especially those associated with agriculture sector.

The secretary agriculture and director general PLRA were present in the meeting.
