Made in China aircraft, that too old and decommissioned, sad that a brave soul is lost. Chinese can copy only looks of world class aircrafts, not the engineering.

As an aviator, but a commercial one, I suggested military personnel to upgrade their 2nd generation pathetic 7pg's but who listen to entry level officers. Passion never counts.

The losses of F7-PGs/FT-7PGs in air crashes are within normal limits, aviation experts claim... What about life lost.. Someones son martyred. Maryam also lost her life previously..what is going on with aircraft

All these aircraft should should grounded until a full evaluation is taken for the entire fleet.

Ground these old outdated F-7PG's. A pilot's life in PAF is much precious.

The pilot couldn't eject, that means something wrong with the ejection button before crash.

This was Chinese copy of MIG21, I am sure it was not the fault of Pilot. These machines are too old. RIP Human

13 losses out of 50 or so aircraft. As an engineer, that's a very high ratio of failure. Then these are Chinese, probably low tech and cheap. I feel very sorry for the pilot and his family. Reminds me of the old PAF's Sabre air crafts, which the PAF pilots use to call as flying coffins.

This must be investigated and brought to light. Every few years, we see such incidents. First, it is the loss of precious life and we cannot just get away by saying "Shahadat". Second, it is a loss of money when an aircraft crashes. All who are responsible for professional negligence must be punished.

The aircraft in question was probably older than the pilot flying it. It is high time PAF retires the F-7.

MiG21 is dubbed as flying coffins and Chinese built variant of MiG21 is this F7. Quite a deadly combination.

Pakistan Airforce needs to think to retire this f7pg fighter jet.

The failure risk is too high, lives of young men are precious. PAF need to ground these planes and ask for refund from China.

@Deaddeed, There is a big difference between the military and civilian aircraft operation, the training the maintenance and as may know a fighter pilot can go through the conversion from military to civilian aircraft but not the other way around. In the seventies, many PIA pilots came were from PAF. These planes are a generation old, copy of Russian MIG-21 but today things are different and the improvement has been in the order of magnitude in design, quality and the proof is that from producing vintage copies of MIG, China in just 3 decades now produces state of the art J-20 and J-31 stealth fighters.

This is a very high incidence rate. The fleet of these aircraft should be grounded immediately and a thorough investigation should be completed expeditiously. All contributing factors need to be investigated from aircraft design fault, maintenance shortcomings to pilot error. If a common theme emerges for the causes of these accidents then remedial steps should be carried out swiftly.

@Desi Baba, Chinese have made tremendous progress in aerospace, fighter design and aerospace electronics, sensor and composite material. They docked their space station several years ago, no less of an engineering feat. Their first single-aisle passenger jet called C919 is about to come out soon for short -haul market as they getting it ready for FAA Certification. If you ever happen to read "Aviation Week & Space Technology" magazine you will know Chinese activities in these fields.

Chinese engineering is based on quantity not quality .... there is no shortages of human resources in Asian countries so a cheap aircraft is always preferred. Having said that we know Chinese are catching up with the west....slowly. The loss of a young life is a great tragedy specially in peace time.

Heads up those who are criticizing the plane's performance. There are more than 2400 F7's flying in a diverse number of countries from Africa and Asian countries that including 90 in Egyptian Airforce and around a 100 in BanglaDesh Airforce. One cannot simply compare the loss of a plane every few years to generalize the performance. In comparison, by some accounts almost 700 F16's have crashed since their production and in some case almost 5 were lost in the US in one month (July 2007).

We must realize that Chinese war machines and to some extant Russian war machines are accident friendly than western war machines but cheap also so all these are part of life . R I P the departed soul .

Very sad to hear about the young pilot. We use the word martyr very loosely whenever someone loses their life. People should read exactly who is considered a martyr.

Too many planes lost mostly Chinese. Question is, how reliable are Chinese planes? I know our pilots are more expensive than the planes and are the best in the world. But do Chinese planes deserve our pilots and or vice versa?

Re-evaluate the 7F-PGs and replace them if not reliable.

Salute. Hope we will get the best of the training aircraft and not the cheap Chinese aircrafts. Our politicians should stop looting and give quality aircrafts at least during training.

Either PAF’s maintenance and engineering staff is incompetent or PAF is using garbage parts and aircrafts.

@Indoaryan , My aerospace employer in Wichita, KS and St Loius, MO had a contractor in Chengdu China where I interfaced back and forth with Chinese engineers on products and components part of larger subassemblies and aerospace systems of several planes. Chinese contractors were given clear guidelines to produce parts according to US standard which they met 100% both qualitative and quantitatively. Not only they do subcontractor work for the US and Europeans but they are producing products of their own, gained valuable experience from US and Europeans and Japanese subcontractor work. US Aerospace companies have been progressively giving more and more contract work to Chinese companies that are not highly competitive on price but very good quality and this how China learned the state of the art manufacturing, be it aerospace electronics or composite. Chinese engineers are smart and hardworking. This is Pakistan is learning "piecemeal" from China in JF-17 fighter and other programs.

This aircraft was first flown in China in 1966 are since outdated and accident prone should be discarded immediately.
