ISLAMPUR is a village near Saidu Sharif. It is famous for cottage industries and produces scarves, woolen coats, caps (pakol) and shawls on the national level. The quality of its goods is good and they can be exported. Although the PTI government talked of promoting such industries in the province, the projects are still in the cold store.

The provincial government needs to create cultural, traditional and economic space for handloom workers of cottage industries through association, building capacity and linkages with the ministry of industry and commerce.
