PCB to convince Australia to play at least two ODIs in Karachi next year

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to renew talks with Cricket Australia to convince them to play at least two one-day internationals in Karachi next year.

A five-match ODI series is scheduled between Pakistan and Australia to be played in the United Arab Emirates in March 2019, a private news channel reported.

The two teams will face each other again at the end of October when Pakistan will play a series of two Tests and three T20Is down under.

After initial talks to convince Australia to tour Pakistan for the series yielded no results, the PCB has decided to resume the talks with Cricket Australia next month.

The board has decided to invite Australian officials to Karachi to monitor the security arrangements during the Pakistan leg of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) fourth edition.

Why Karachi alone? What has Lahore done to deserve that? Play one in Karachi and other in Lahore if they agree to visit.

You'll have to shut down the entire city for those two days, have more security than spectators in the stadium, frisk even the chairman of PCB before everything the stadium, only then will they agree to play

Start with a T20I, preferably at Lahore. Make arrangements for net practice at Dubai. A couple of hours before match starts, fly the players into the venue. They do a bit of pre-match warm up and, play the match. Fly them back to Dubai immediately after post-match media interviews are over. In my opinion, teams are not visiting Pakistan because they are hesitant to STAY in Pakistan for a long time.

Bold decision by PCB to persuade the Kangaroos to play a minimum of two ODI matches next year on the land and soil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. After all, some day and time in the near future they have to do so. Why not next year?

Why just Karachi? A better bet, with a more promising outcome, would be to invite them to stay in the federal capital and play the games in Rawalpindi, where we do have the requisite security, and no political party holds any sway over the masses, or threaten with any security issue. So there is little chance of disruption. PCB has to get their thinking right.
