DACCA: President Ayub Khan said tonight [Dec 7] that it was heinous crime to incite the people to violence. The President was addressing the members of the East Pakistan Muslim League Parliamentary Party at Hotel Shahbagh here.

The President strongly condemned the role of the Opposition and said that they were engaged in misleading the people and inciting them to violence. He said that the Opposition ought to behave in a democratic fashion if they really meant business.

President Ayub said that election was in the offing and the Opposition had already started the election campaign. President Ayub regretted that the Opposition had set a bad example by their activities. He hoped that good sense would prevail on them and that the Opposition would be guided by democratic methods as they professed to do so.

The President said that unfortunately the Opposition were engaged in creating disruption and in inciting the people to violence and disorder. He said that it was most heinous crime to incite the people to violence which would hurt the country.
