ISLAMABAD: The Pakis­tan Sports Board (PSB) on Friday said grants will only be released to those national sports federations which have submitted their last year’s audited statements of accounts.

A meeting of the National Sports Federations and Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) was held under the chairmanship of Khaqan Babar, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board, here regarding preparation and participation in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG), Kathmandu, Nepal from March 9 to 18, 2019.

In the meeting, the house was apprised that annual grant will be released to the National Sports Federations on receipt of second quarter grant from the government.

The DG, PSB also formed a working group comprising Mansoor Ahmed Khan, DDG (Admin) as PSB/Convener and members including Muhammad Khalid Mehmood, Secretary Gene­ral, POA, Muhammad Shafiq, President, Pakistan Handball Federation and Muhammad Azam Dar, DDG (Tech).

DG PSG also advised federations to submit their training plan to assess financial analysis of each road map in writing to the working group to evaluate and submit their recommendations to the board for the South Asian Games.

The Working Group will prepare recommendations and present it to DG PSB by Nov 20 for submitting to the Secretary, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) along with budget requirements.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Mahmood, Sec­retary General, POA, Muhammad Zafar, Secre­tary General, Athletics Fede­ration of Pakistan, Muhammad Arshad Sattar, Secretary General, Pakistan Wrestling Federation, Engineer Shah Naeem Zafar, Honorary Secretary, Pakistan Volleyball Federa­tion and other representatives of federations.
