RAWALPINDI: An 11-year-old who was employed as domestic worker and allegedly abused by her employers was taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) on Monday and again on Tuesday.

The child, who is currently in the custody of the child protection bureau, was brought to a hospital on Monday for various tests after she complained of severe pain. She was brought back on Tuesday and examined for evidence of sexual assault. No such evidence was found, and the victim has not made any such allegations.

The victim was employed by a military doctor and her husband, who is a doctor as well. An initial medical examination found marks of trauma from a blunt weapon on her head, as well as bruising on other parts of her body.

She will also undergo further tests.

A child protection officer confirmed that the child was brought to a hospital because she was complaining of pain in her left arm, ribs and abdomen.

He said she was undergoing medical tests because her father has taken her back to her hometown without carrying out any medical examinations after the incident came to light.

The victim and her father were brought back to Rawalpindi last week after the case was circulated on social media and the electronic media.

The victim was also produced before the court of civil judge Sameera Alamgir on Monday to record a statement, before being shifted to the child protection bureau.

One of the suspects sought interim jail the same day before an additional sessions judge. He was granted bail on Rs50,000 worth of surety bonds, but the case of his wife has been sent to the army for further proceedings.

He was taken into custody Sunday night but was not formally arrested. A senior police official said he would be investigated by the police after the end of his pre-arrest bail.
