ISLAMABAD: Senate Special Committee on Law Reforms in its inaugural meeting on Wednesday finalised its terms of reference (ToRs).

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Senator Farooq Hamid Naek and was attended among others by Javed Abbasi, former Senator Anwar Bhinder, adviser on Legislative Drafting retired Justice Mohammad Raza Khan.

The meeting decided to focus on National Accountability Bureau laws, family laws, procedures in law of inheritance, civil servants act, corporate law, reforms in areas of law relating to damages and law of privileges.

The first meeting of the committee was held at the Parliament House for general discussion regarding the course of action to be adopted by the special committee and to finalise its ToRs.

The committee members and experts deliberated upon the areas and suggested that there was need to do a number of law reforms to address public problems.
