PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested absconder Mohammad Arif in an Rs101 million illegal assets case.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the NAB claimed that the absconder had assets beyond known sources of his income.

It said the evidence collected by its team showed that Mohammad Arif illegally possessed movable and immovable assets, including a mansion in Haripur, three expensive plots in Islamabad and four expensive plots in posh localities of Rawalpindi.

The NAB said a reference was filed with an accountability court in 2015, which declared Mohammad Arif absconder and issued perpetual warrant of his arrests in May 2018.

It added that absconder was arrested in Islamabad in line with the court’s orders.

The NAB said the accused would be produced in an accountability court to secure further custody for interrogation.
