KHUZDAR: An elder belonging to Sasoli tribe was killed in a bomb blast in Kalat, Levies officials said here on Saturday.

They said that some unidentified people placed an explosive device on a roadside and detonated it by remote control when Mir Sarfaraz Sasoli, who was returning from his farm in Nimragh area of Kalat to his home on a motorcycle, was near it on Friday night. They said the elder received critical wounds in the blast and died on the spot.

Mir Sarfaraz was a brother of a Balochistan National Party-Mengal’s leader.

Soon after receiving information about the blast security personnel rushed to the area and shifted the body to the district hospital in Kalat.

Levies personnel were investigating the incident.
