LAHORE: A man allegedly killed his mother and stepfather over their marriage, Ravi Road police said on Friday.

The incident occurred in Mohalla Qadirabad where Saira lived with her second husband Shahbaz.

Police claimed that Saira’s son, Ali, was unhappy over his mother’s decision to remarry. On the day of the incident, Ali visited his stepfather’s house and exchanged harsh words with him.

He later returned with a dagger and pistol, allegedly attacked Shahbaz, injuring him critically, police said, adding that he also injured his mother when she came to rescue her husband. Ali then shot at Saira and Shahbaz, killing them on the spot.

The suspect fled from the scene. Police lodged a case against him and shifted the bodies to city morgue for autopsy.
