KARACHI: Left-arm spinner Tayyab Hussain captured five wickets for just 10 runs as SMS clinched the Inter-Academy U-16 Cricket League when they routed Moin Khan Cricket Academy (MKCA) by ten wickets in their final league round match here at the Eidgah Ground, Nazimabad the other day.

Asked to bat first, MKCA were dismissed for just 53 in the 14th over. Owais Kazmi was the only batsman to reach double figures, scoring 18 runs. Tayyab was brilliant with the ball and bagged five wickets. Haniza claimed two wickets for three runs.

SMS Academy in reply raced to victory in the tenth over without losing any wicket. Prolific Wahaj Riaz remained unbeaten on 26 off 24 balls laced with four boundaries while Aliyan Mehmood clubbed four boundaries in his 24 not out.

SMS Academy ended with 258 points while Sherwani Dolphins Academy collected 243 points and host Customs Cricket Academy secured 207 points for third spot.

Sherwani Dolphins Academy in their last league match defeated UBL Academy by 42 runs at Annu Bhai Ground Nazimabad to finish runners-up in six team double round robin league contest.

Sent in to bat first, Sherwani Academy mustered 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Promising Ghazi Ghouri hammered six fours and one six in his 74 off 68 balls while Shahid Ali’s quick fire 61 in 40 balls was studded with four fours and three sixes.

UBL in reply was restricted to 159-9 in their quota of 30 overs. Adeel Meo made 53 off 44 balls which included half a dozen boundaries and a six. Abdullah Fazal blasted nine four in his 49 off 49 balls. Sharjeel Ahmed picked three wickets for five runs.
