The Election Commission Pakistan has postponed the July 25 election scheduled for NA-60 after the disqualification of PML-N candidate Hanif Abbasi.

An ECP notice dated July 22 says that Abbasi's disqualification from the NA-60 race "has resulted into a heated debate in the media and political circles rendering the atmosphere as fully and negatively charged; and whereas the serious criticism is afloat qua the provision of level playing field in the General Election 2018."

Earlier, it was believed that AML's Sheikh Rashid would get a walkover in the upcoming polls since there is no covering candidate of the PML-N in the constituency. But the ensuing debate on the matter appears to have resulted in a postponed.
