Mirza Muhammad Ahmed Mughal, an independent candidate from Faisalabad's NA-103, has committed suicide after being disillusioned with not being able to secure the backing of his own family.

In a video he had recorded a day before his death, Mughal accused his sons and daughter-in-laws of "going from home to home in the neighbourhood and asking people to not vote for him".

Disheartened with the development, Mughal, in the video, vowed to take his own life the next day.

Polls in the NA-103 constituency have been delayed.
