SHANGLA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district Kollai Pallas Kohistan president and independent candidate for PK-27, Kohistan, advocate Rozi Khan has withdrawn his candidature in favour of another independent candidate Dr Saifur Rehman.

He announced his decision during a press conference at KDP Ground, Bisham, here on Thursday. He was flanked by former MPAs Abdul Sattar, Mufti Mehmood and his supporters from parts of Kolai Pallas.

Rozi Khan said that after PTI didn’t award him ticket he had decided to contest the election as an independent candidate, but the local elders compelled him to withdraw in favour of another independent candidate for the sake unity in Kollai Pallas.

He announced that he and his supporters would back Saifur Rehman to win the PK-27 seat.

“Our people will not accept imported candidates. Those who were hired from outside districts in Kohistan would not get more than 200 votes from the constituency.” he claimed.

Saifur Rehman, who is former district nazim Kohistan, said that provision of education and health facilities to the people in Kohistan would remain among his top priorities. Mr Rehman said if elected he would make efforts for establishment of Abasin division.

PROTEST: The tehsil municipal administration workers in Shangla staged protests against SHO Aloch Puran for degrading the workers and registering cases against them.

The TMA workers at Puran, Alpuri and Bisham staged protests here on Thursday.
