PESHAWAR, June 2: MNA Abdul Akbar Chitrali said on Thursday that President Gen Pervez Musharraf was likely to inaugurate work on the Rs8 billion Lowari Tunnel project on June 6. Speaking at a press conference, he said work on the project had been started after the provision of Rs2 billion by the provincial government.

He said work on Chitral bypass, Daroosh irrigation tunnel and Boni bridge projects had also been started.

He said he had approved a women’s degree college in the area. He said there was a degree college for women and three for boys in the area. He said that one of the colleges had been upgraded to post-graduate level. He said he had upgraded 17 schools.

He said that he was striving to set up separate educational institutions for girls.
