TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Monday declared that the country had been ruled by the US agents for last 70 years who would be made accountable if the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal came to power.

Addressing a party meeting at Haya Serai in Lower Dir, the JI chief, who is contesting polls on MMA ticket from NA-7, said the rich were becoming richer while the poor were getting poorer.

Siraj remarked that the rulers had shifted their ill-gotten money abroad but state institutions had failed to bring the money back. He said the MMA would bring back all the looted money to Pakistan if it came to power.

Taking credit for free textbook distribution among students, initiating work on Malakand-III hydel power station, ending VIP culture in power corridors and establishing new schools and colleges, the JI chief said the MMA government from 2002 to 2008 had done a lot to achieve its goals.

PTI DISGRUNTLED WORKERS: While expressing serious reservations regarding award of party tickets, the estranged PTI leaders on Sunday announced to support the party’s candidates in the district in the larger interest of the party.

Speaking at a news conference at the Timergara Press Club the other day, PTI Lower Dir general secretary Ali Shah Mishwani, senior vice president Malik Rahatullah, Malik Inam, Asadullah Khayam, Abdul Qayum Khan, Saeedullah and others alleged that some elements in the party were bent upon destroying it in Lower Dir but they won’t allow them to succeed in their designs.

They termed the interviews for nomination of candidates as mere drama and said the tickets were awarded to those having no direct contact with PTI workers in the district.

They said the leadership should have also included a party member from Lower Dir in the parliamentary board for award of tickets.

ANP POLL OFFICES OPEN: ANP provincial president Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti inaugurated offices of the party’s poll candidates at Chakdara, Timergara and Rabat the other day.

He also addressed public meetings, where dozens of workers from other parties announced to join the ANP.

The ANP leaders criticised the PTI, JI and JUI-F for their policies during the last five years. They said both the JI and JUI-F did nothing for development of Pakhtuns despite being in power during last five years.
