The Supreme Court has been told that, its commendable efforts aside, overseas Pakistanis will not be able to take part in general elections 2018.

Though he (self-admittedly) strongly desired that expatriates could take part in the voting process, the chief justice conceded that it was not practical to introduce a system for this election, and that "it would do more harm than good."

That's all for now for expatriate Pakistanis hoping to cast a ballot in July. The case will next be heard at an unspecified future date.
