RAHIM YAR KHAN: Two persons and 13 cattle were killed in separate incidents in tehsil Khanpur on Tuesday.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, a fire erupted during cooking in the huts of Basti Chandia of Mauza Bhait Mughal near Benazir Bridge on river Indus, some 76km from here. As a result of the fire, Saleem, 18, a special person, and 13 cattle were burnt live while 50 huts, a motorcycle, a diesel engine and eight tonne wheat were reduced to ashes.

The firefighters of Khanpur and Rajanpur controlled the fire.

In another incident, a girl was killed when a newly-constructed wall fell on her at Mai Wali Masjid near Dinpur Bridge in Khanpur.
