TIMERGARA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzafar Said here on Monday said that government was spending billions of rupees on improvement of health and education facilities in the province.

Addressing the staff of district headquarters hospital after inaugurating ongoing development schemes, he said that government succeeded to improve educational and health institutions.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated special express power line to the hospital, female section in the hospital laboratory and extension work of the hospital mosque.

He also visited different units of the facility and met the patients.

The minister said that Timergara hospital was the largest peripheral hospital in the province. He said that patients from Upper Dir, Bajaur Agency and Chitral also visited the hospital that overloaded it.

The minister said that the new power line would ensure smooth power supply to the hospital. He asked the staff to devotedly serve people.

Also in the day, the minister administered oath to the newly elected cabinet members of Timergara District Bar Association during a function.

Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts of legal fraternity for restoration of democracy, peace and establishing the rule of law.

He said that provincial budget was prepared and would be presented on May 5 if PTI chief Imran Khan gave a green signal in that regard.

EXHIBITION: A two-day art and painting exhibition was opened at University of Malakand (UoM) here on Monday.

The exhibition was organised by UoM in collaboration with Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) Mardan and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar.

UoM Vice-chancellor Dr Gul Zaman formally launched the exhibition.

He said that Malakand was historical abode of various civilisations in the past. He asked the students to portray a soft image of the area through their paintings and art works.

Dr Fazal Sattar of AWKU, dean faculty of physical and numerical sciences Dr Aurangzeb, dean faculty of social sciences Dr Rashid Ahmad and SBBWU Peshawar’s Prof Aneela Mudasir also spoke on the occasion.

They said that the region was centre of various ancient civilisations which had great importance in the world history.
