LAHORE: A two-day art and craft exhibition, organised by Social Welfare Department and Baitul Maal, concluded at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium, on Monday.

The cultural complex was quite a happening place on both days whereas on the concluding evening of the event a good number of the people, mostly females, bought handmade products.

The most visited stalls were those of outfits, both stitched and non-stitched and jewellery. The products on display at the exhibition were prepared by various centres of Sannatzar.

Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Design Tahir Sufi told Dawn that handicrafts had been put on display from all districts of Punjab.

Seventy stalls were set up at the exhibition, featuring a diverse range of handmade outfits, bags, accessories and decoration pieces.

The mostly visited stalls were of Qasar-i-Behbood and those from districts of Mianwali and Bhakar and Khushab. Ten percent of the total proceeds would go to the respective Sannatzar centre.

A female customer, Saira Awan while commenting on the exhibition said: “When we visit other such handicraft exhibitions led by some leading names, we find products at higher rates as compared to this exhibition”.
