Nisar can’t contest polls on PML-N ticket: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has hinted at not giving party ticket to former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for the upcoming general elections after he openly went against the present PML-N narrative and leadership.

Mr Nisar’s recent statement against the party leadership and his stance against the party line on the Panama Paper case verdict against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and criticism against the judiciary indicate that he has already lost a ‘sacred’ place in the party.

Speaking to Dawn, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, a senior leader of the PML-N, said: “The PML-N will go to polls with its present narrative and Chaudhry Nisar, who is deadly against the party’s narrative, cannot contest the polls from the party platform.”

While hinting that Chaudhry Nisar might not get party ticket in the next general elections, the former information minister said Mr Nisar was acting against the present narrative of the ruling party. “His fate in the party will be decided by incumbent PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif,” he added.

He said that Mr Nisar would have to decide if he wanted to continue with the party or part ways.

Since the surfacing of Panama cases against the former prime minister and his family, Mr Nisar had been giving statements against the PML-N policies and narratives, which the party leadership believed were violation of party’s discipline.

Ch Nisar can make his own PML (Nisar), we estimate approximately 45 members can him, almost complete Rawalpindi Division and in South Punjab, Ch Nisar will be in good shape, because he is not corrupt and straight shooter.

First Javed Hashmi, now Chaudhry Nisar, one by one they'll all leave, and what will remain would be the family itself and those who worship them. Ch. Nisar should already move out of PML-N and into a new party of his stature. We all know there's only one party where Nisar could be welcomed and that's PTI. His only problem is that he carries with him an ego. But politically, he's a very intelligent person. Could prove to be a great asset to PTI. Now when Nawaz Sharif has got people like Pervez Rashid speaking for him (whose family is known to be against even the idea of Pakistan), then Nawaz Sharif doesn't need enemies, his own cronies are enough.

Nisar is hedging his bets because he has proven through his actions that he is an opportunist. He benefited from the Sharifs for 30+ years. He would not be on the national political scene without Nawaz and that is true for every PML-N leader including Shahbaz. It is predictable that he will join a party soon which is favored by the establishment

Nasar if he was honest, then he should have left the party, or try to change it within the party. He was not honest with the country. He has the biggest chance to change pakistan. That is to leave the party and expose Nawaz & co for What they are. This will help pakistan and Punjab, not to have majority for PML-N. Because I can not see any other way to stop PMN-N wining in Punjab.

The Panama case was against Nawaz Shareef, purely in his personal capacity and not as Prime Minister or party head. The party had nothing to do with the Panama case. Hence the question of adhering to Party line or narrative on the part of Nisar does not arise. The ministers are seen protecting Nawaz at the Accountability court, leaving their duties to the nation. This is unfair.

Every time Mr. Nisar talks to the media he hints at opening up mystery surrounding his dissent in the party. He ? threatens to release the Secrets of PML(N) over many years but he never does it. It is obvious the the party wants him out but he wants to be ousted. That is the crux of the problem.

It would have been better to convey the message senior leaders & should open mouth in media .If you are right good work,loyalty ,dedication would prevail in the future & would have got more honour/respect. Thing could work out better with SHBAZ SHARIF & people who trying to creat troubles will be defeated & PML-N will get on its feet.In history you should that unity ,inspite of some differences always prevails.

It does not bother Nisar . Losing Nisar at this juncture of time is also a dent on party that will affect the overall performance of party. Believing that PML N is likely to win the general election is itself a fool's paradise. Nisar is too strong to lose seat with backing of PML N or without backing. It seems to have affected the Nawaz Sharif who has lost the most party loyalists because he has become victim of his own whims.

All those who are advising NIsar Sahib to quit PML-N have their own motives.
