LAHORE: Golden Stars Club defea­ted Ihsan Club by 63 runs in the opening match of the Canon Foam Challenge One-day Cup cricket tournament here at the Model Town ground on Thursday.

Chief selector and former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, Test batsman Taufiq Umar and ex-Test umpire Mian Mohammad Aslam inaugurated the tournament.

Batting first, Golden Stars piled up 231-4 in 30 overs. In reply, Ihsan Club could post 168-9 in 25.4 overs.
