When will punishment come is a million dollar question. A high powered special court should be setup immediately to investigate and award death sentence within 2 weeks of confession. In the absence of swift and severe punishment such crimes cannot be controlled

I really can not understand how a brother can kill his sister, he is the protector, supposed to be. He could have stand against all odds to save and protect her. He could have left with his sister the village and the people, how can he live with guild of killing one's own sister. Literacy is really needed but instead the politicians are busy doing corruption.

Stupid panchayat should be outlawed and banned by the govt. These are most corrupt and vile people ruining lives and claiming superiority over others. Jirgas/Panchayat operate on centuries-old codes of honor and their tribal code considers women to be property. Women in Pakistan continue to fall prey to jirgas/Panchayats (a parallel justice system held by the influential and landholding aristocracy). More and more innocent women in Pakistan are being murdered at the hands of close family members on the orders of these so-called Jirgas/Panchayats. The practice of jirga/Panchayat also contravenes many articles of the Constitution which guarantees legal protection, liberty and justice to the citizens of Pakistan and the right to be treated in accordance with the law.

All should note that no one is ever successfully prosecuted for these crimes in Pakistan? After the noise dies down, those arrested are always quietly released and their arrest files expunged from history!
