PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau has initiated an inquiry against PPP Senator Osman Saifullah and his family members over accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, the inquiry was initiated on the directives of NAB Chairman Justice Javid Iqbal.

It was stated that NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had authorised the inquiry worth billions of rupees against the senator and his family members namely Anwar Saifullah, Saleem Saifullah, Hamayum Saifullah, Iqbal Saifullah, Javed Saifullah, Jehangir Saifullah and others.

The accused persons were allegedly involved in accumulation of assets beyond known sources of come, having 34 offshore companies in Panama, British Virgin Islands and Seychelles.

NAB Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Brig retired Farooq Naser Awan assured that the inquiry would be conducted in a transparent manner and culprits would be punished as per law.
