KARACHI: As many as 8,628 policemen would be deployed for the security of Chup Tazia processions in the metropolis on Monday, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

This was stated in a report submitted by the AIG-operations to Sindh IGP A.D. Khowaja

It was stated that two Chup Tazia processions would be taken out. One from Nishtar Park to Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar, where 5,020 policemen would provide security, while 3,608 policemen would be deployed for the security of the other procession that would start off from Rizvia Society and culminate at Imambargah Shah Najaf.

Reviewing the report about the security of Chup Tazia processions, the IGP directed the police authorities to take such security steps for Larkana, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas as well and maintain the same level of security, particularly in view of the forthcoming 12th Rabiul Awwal.

Mr Khowaja also directed the police officials to consult with all stakeholders to chalk out a concrete and extraordinary security plan.
