ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is eyeing 1.4 million income tax returns for the tax year 2017, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan said on Wednesday. He was speaking to the participants of the 107th National Management Course during their visit to the FBR House.

An official statement issued after the meeting said the special assistant described the state of the economy as “healthy and stable”, with most economic indicators showing positive growth trends.

Mr Akhtar said the country was well on its way to achieving 6 per cent GDP growth for this fiscal year as compared to 5.3pc economic expansion recorded last year.
