Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 2 wickets in second T20

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by two wickets in a sensational last over finish in the second Twenty20 international in Abu Dhabi on Friday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Shadab Khan led the team to victory with a six in the last over. Fast bowler Faheem Ashraf became the first Pakistan bowler to achieve a hat-trick which reduced Sri Lanka to 124-9 in their 20 overs. Hasan Ali picked two wickets while Shadab Khan bagged one.

Pakistan reached the target in 19.5 overs. The third and final match will be played in Lahore on Sunday.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and sent Sri Lanka in to bat. Sri Lanka made 124-9 against Pakistan.

Opener Danushka Gunathilaka smashed a 48-ball 51 with four boundaries and a six while Sadeera Samarawickrama made 32 as Sri Lanka lost their last eight wickets for just 18 runs.

Opener Fakhar Zaman was run out at 11 runs in the fourth over. Babar Azam, who came after Zaman, followed soon after.

Both teams are unchanged from the previous T20.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 102 in 18.3 overs by Pakistan in the first Twenty20 International in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. Pakistan had won the match with a margin of seven wickets. Pakistan lead the three-match series 1-0.
