KHUZDAR: A man was killed and 20 others received injuries when a trailer bumped into four vehicles, among them two passenger wagons, on the main Quetta-Karachi Highway near the Khaliqabad area of Kalat district on Monday.

The driver of the Quetta-bound trailer coming from Karachi lost control of the long-bodied vehicle due to over-speeding and hit four vehicles, Levies officials said.

The accident left 21 people wounded.

Levies and Frontier Corps personnel shifted the injured to a local government hospital.

Some 15 injured were later shifted to Quetta. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries while being shifted.

The rest of those hurt in the accident were shifted to the Trauma Centre of the Civil Hospital Quetta. A woman was among the injured. The injured belonged to Kalat, Khuzdar and Quetta. Levies arrested the driver of the trailer.
