Sri Lanka on Saturday announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan, with Thisara Perera leading the side.
Sri Lanka's limited-overs captain Upul Tharanga will not be a part of the squad since he refused to play the third T20 of the series, which is to be held in Lahore.
Suranga Lakmal, Dinesh Chandimal and Lasith Malinga also refused to play in Lahore and, therefore, have been excluded from the squad.
Sri Lanka Cricket had also reduced Danushka Gunathilaka's punishment for disciplinary violation from six to three matches anticipating refusal by the senior players.
Tickets for the final T20 in Lahore have gone on sale. Sri Lanka whitewashed Pakistan in the Test series while Pakistan has thrashed Sri Lanka to claim the ODI series.
Sri Lanka squad: Thisara Perera (captain), Dilshan Munaweera, Danushka Gunathilaka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Ashan Priyanjan, Mahela Udawatte, Dasun Shanaka, Sachith Pathirana, Vikum Sanjaya, Lahiru Gamage, Seekkuge Prasanna, Vishwa Fernando, Isuru Udana, Jeffrey Vandersay and Chathuranga de Silva.

Great gestures by the SLCB and players coming to Pakistan.. But the one refused has done quite a bit unnecessary damage to our cause.. We won't forget that too.. Reason I say so is that we recently had world XI tour and PSL final with high quality and everyone appreciated the security and hospitality but these guys are leaving a bad taste.

International hockey, tennis, badminton, football and even cricket players are coming to play in Pakistan. I can understand their hesitation but once you are given assurances by the host country government, you should come.

We should be gratefull to the Sri Lanka team for supporting Pakistan. We should honour the players with gifts and hospitality. We should also understand the reasons why some have refused.

If security is good enough for one player then it’s good enough for all players. Either the whole team refuses or the whole team visits. Not sure why the four refused. I see some pressure from “unknown” source being applied here and we all know who is that “unknown” source.

I think the players who refused to play in Pakistan forgot that when Tamil Tiger were fighting in SriLanka, situation was worst compare to Pakistan but still Pakistan and other team were playing there and regularly travel there. Those who refused to play are good players and we respect their decision but those who are coming are great for us who willing to help Pakistan in revival of international cricket.

First thing first, do not hype the cricket. Across world, cricket is going low except Pak and Bangladesh. I am from India and I can see people have not much interest in cricket due to poor standard of players across the teams.
With Pak, the matches are going and have started but rather a talk on cricket, I read lot of talk in security and safety. Like the world 11 tour, the kind of security has been made, it's next to impossible to believe that situation is good. Rather, those kinda super Ulta security arrangements make you highly uncomfortable.
Somewhere, Pak has worked more to downcast the situation of own cricket and cricketers.
They should play more and more domestic first. Invite PSL team for more matches and begin effective rather paying more money and begging other boards to visit.
It's not about cricket only. They should start other sport as well. You can't assume that playing one match will change the whole situation.
Situation is that for every trip they have to talk

So there will be one club game of cricket in Lahore after all. The recent high priced so-called World XI match in Pakistan could hardly count as the resumption of international cricket on Pakistan soil.
There is no basis of any hope for the resumption of matches in Pakistan at this time. Watch top teams' quality cricket on TV and enjoy.

@Rajesh you can say Pakistan is safe the way you say other things which requires motion of tongue ,lips and person have to have voice as well. Btw Sri Lankan cricket board is sending team with most of their team members in it few missing players dont matter .
