LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Tuesday announced the results of annual examination of intermediate Part-II.

The top positions in the Lahore BISE as well as most of other boards in the province were clinched by private colleges. This shows the state of education in public sector colleges as well as the shift of the students to private sector education.

As many as 155,122 candidates appeared in the exams this year. Of them, 96,927 passed the exam with a percentage of 62.4.

A sum of Rs20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 and gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the first, second and third position holders, respectively.

Punjab Higher Education Minister Raza Ali Gilani gave away cash prizes and awards to the top position holders. Board Chairman Chaudhry Ismail made the welcome address.

Muhammad Umar secured the first position with 1,060 marks, Menaam Farooq remained second with 1,059 and Muhammad Umar Mukhtar third with 1,052 marks. All the top three position holders belong to the Punjab Group of Colleges.

MULTAN: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Multan, announced the results of annual examination of intermediate on Tuesday.

According to result gazette, 43,196 students had appeared in the examination, out of which 30,680 passed the exam with a percentage of 71.03.

Anmool Fatima of Punjab College for Girls, Mailsi, and Jawaira Mustafa of Punjab College for Girls, Mian Channu shared the first position with 1,050 marks each; Malik Humayoun Khalid of the Government Postgrad-uate College, Khanewal, stood second with 1,047 marks while the third position was obtained by Amna Masood of Punjab College for Girls, Khanewal, with 1,044 marks.

Out of total 33 positions, students of the government colleges obtained only five positions. Two private students were also among the position holders while all the remaining 24 positions were obtained by the students of private colleges.

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur board chairman Rana Masood Akhtar said out of total 46,397 candidates, 25,387 were declared successful showing a pass percentage of 54.72.

Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Muhammad Iqbal Channar gave away medals and cash prizes to the position-holders of all the groups at a ceremony held at the BISE Auditorium.

The overall top position was captured by Muhammad Ali Zafar of Alpine College of Science Khanpur by securing 1,055 marks. Hadia Alam Siddiqui of Punjab College for Girls Rahim Yar Khan and Hafiza Smeata Sajid of Punjab College for Women Bahawalpur got second and third positions by obtaining 1,048 and 1,047 marks, respectively.

FAISALABAD: The BISE held a prize distribution ceremony for the students who clinched positions in the intermediate annual examination.

The controller of examination announcing the results said 84,569 students appeared in the exams and 55,810 of them declared successful with 66.08 pass percentage.

Abdul Basit of Chenab College Jhang got 1,054 marks and clinched overall top position. Sana Iqbal of Science College for Women Tandlianwala secured second position by achieving 1,048 marks while Rafia Iman of Punjab College for Women Jaranwal Road bagged the third position with 1,045 marks.

Punjab Minister for Local Govt & Community Development Muhammad Manshaullah Butt distributed prizes and certificates among the position holders.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: In dera BISE, the pass percentage remained 68.77 in the exams.

The first position was achieved by Muhammad Mubeen of Rashid Minhas Higher Secondary School Alipur in district Muzaffargarh by getting 1,044 marks while Muhammad Uzair Shaukat Makhdoom of Punjab College Kot Addu got the second position with 1,042 marks. The third position was shared by Naseer Ahmed of Misali Boys Higher Secondary School Kot Addu and Muhammad Mehtab Aslam of New Punjab Public Higher Secondary School Kot Addu with 1,041 marks.
