PTI challenges Kulsoom Nawaz's nomination papers in LHC

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) a returning officer's acceptance of PML-N candidate Kulsoom Nawaz's nomination papers for the upcoming NA-120 elections.

The Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP's) returning officer for the constituency had accepted Kulsoom's nomination papers on Thursday after Senator Asif Kirmani appeared in her place to respond to reservations.

The application, filed on behalf of PTI leader Andaleeb Abbasi, alleges that Kulsoom's nomination papers contain a lot of contradictions and were accepted despite her not appearing in person.

Numerous laws were violated while accepting Kulsoom's nomination papers, which is why they should be rejected by overturning the returning officer's decision, the application says.

Let's see how LHC review this appeal against EC and bibi Kalsoom Nawaz! Like vast majority of loyal Pakistanis, I expect a fair trial and conclusion based on truth after a full review of the relevant documents and petitioner's complaint.

PTI would have had a better chance of winning if they had Sheikh Rasheed run instead. Which means zero.chances. Even Sheikh Rasheed won't vote for himself if he followed his own conscience.

I am an Indian and not affected by what is going on. Try to win in the court of people. Playing proxy for some one won`t win elections. This is a reflection of pathetic state of Pakistani democracy.
