KARACHI: Like always the Karachi Race Club (KRC) joins the 20 million people of the country to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pakistan by holding the Independence Day Cup and Gymkhana race meeting at the Racecourse on Monday.

The Independence Day Cup, which is also the day’s feature event, combined scale order I and II to be contested over six furlongs on round bend, is the main attraction for punters.

Seven horses will battle it out for the honours in the cup race, which is fourth event in day’s racing order.

In all, a healthy number of 36 horses will face the starter in a five-race card barring last-minute withdrawal.

The first race starts at 2.30pm.
