LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order which discussed the preliminary report on suicide attack at Kot Lakhpat along the Ferozepur Road.

An official said the chief minister expressed his displeasure when it was pointed out that closed-circuit TV cameras in the area were not working when the explosion took place. He sought a report on the condition of all CCTV cameras installed in the provincial capital in a bid to make it safe against terrorist attacks.

Shahbaz called for coordination among all the agencies responsible for ensuring the law and order for effective steps to cope with terrorism. He said entry and exit points of the province and major towns should be strictly monitored and action must be taken against the terrorists and their facilitators in an effective manner.
