India has scored their second big win over Pakistan in six days, beating the men in green 6-1 in a World Hockey League play-off at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday.
Pakistan had lost their previous match against their arch-rivals 7-1 on Sunday.
Pakistan's defeat comes in the playoffs for positions fifth to eighth of the Hockey World League's semi-final round, which are considered qualifiers for the Hockey World Cup.
Pakistan will now play China for the seventh position on Sunday.
Both Pakistan and India bowed out of the competition on Thursday after losing their quarter-finals to Argentina and Malaysia by margins of 1-3 and 2-3, respectively.
In the remaining quarter-finals, the Netherlands had outplayed China 7-0 and England came from behind to down Canada 4-2.
South Korea had defeated Scotland 6-3 to finish 9th in the 10 team event.
All four winners of the quarterfinals — Argentina, Malaysia, Netherlands and England — have now booked a spot for the 2018 World Cup in Bhubaneswar, India. India, as host of the World Cup, have automatically qualified for the mega event.

Good job boys. Wish we were in Semis. Losing to a weaker team Malaysia was an upset. Nevertheless win and loose are a part of the game. What's heart warming is the way this team is playing. Hoping for best days ahead.

So we have lost twice with the score 13 to 2. And what is our national game? With all the euphoria about cricket we forget that only a few Commonwealth teams play cricket not like soccer in which both India and Pakistan cannot even qualify now not even in hockey, our national game!

No worries - this loss means we are not good enough yet to be a world force in hockey - keep working hard!
I was unable to watch any of the games but margin of defeat was quite confidence shattering in most games against top sides so better be good enough to be competitive against the best when you qualify, which doesn't seem to be the case at the moment - hence no regrets about not making the top 5 that qualify for the World Cup.

Out of total 4 matches (hockey 2 & cricket 2) played between India and Pakistan this month, India won 3 and Pakistan won 1. More matches should be played and media should make it low profile news, then only relation will improve and no hatred.

Pakistan hockey is going down the hill who needs to make a turn around like its cricket team. India's win over Pakistan is no big deal but loss to Malaysia was a great setback. Indian hockey team too has unpredictable team tag as it has beaten the best teams like Australia, Holland and Germany recently has to break this jinx.

However, persistent and consistent hard-work, die hard practice, strong and solid frame of head, heart and mind coupled with nutritionist recommended diet and Olympian standard extensive training program is the key to winning more global competition field hockey matches especially against the arch-rivals India, during the upcoming days.

Hockey is finished for both team.Argentina and other smaller nations have taken over them.It is time to get rid of these players and start from scratch on drawing board.Both teams lying in same boat and India still hoping of better future.Both teams need to completely release there current players and start off fresh.The day they take over Argentina and Belgium,entire process will be over and golden days of Hockey for Asian subcontinent will be back.Till such time it is futile exercise with current set of players.

The idea we can't physically compete with the Euopean's in today's hockey because they are somehow magically "superior" than us is an illogical argument and I wish hockey fans in Pakistan would stop using that as an excuse.
I live in the US and its no magic that Europeans are physically superior. There is a gym here every few miles and most Europeans (even non atheletes) are very focussed on building and maintaining fitness all year round!
If people in Pakistan would take their physical fitness as seriously as the Europeans by going to the gym and taking their fitness as a matter of pride there is absolutely no reason why we can't be "physically" as superior as the Europeans!!
