SWABI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders have said that protest demonstrations staged by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf against power outages is a mere tactic to divert people’s attention from the party’s failure to serve its voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking at a meeting here on Sunday, they said that PML-N-led federal government had pledged to end loadshedding and people would see that there would be no loadshedding before the next general elections.

They pointed out that PTI chairman Imran Khan had said on record that the provincial government would construct 350 small dams to end power loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but he had failed to deliver on his promise.

On the occasion, MPA Shiraz Khan said a number of power projects initiated by the PML-N government would be completed till the end of the current year, and then there would be no loadshedding in the country. “The industry would get uninterrupted electricity supply as well,” he added.

Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, the party’s district president, said PTI and other political parties should wait and see that how the PML-N leadership would fulfill the promise made by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif soon after 2013 election victory.

Dildar Khan, PML-N general secretary, said his party did not make hollow slogans and would materialise its promises.

He said that the Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate would receive smooth power supply soon.

MEETING: Represen-tatives of the local paramedical association on Saturday pledged that there would be no compromise on the rights of the workers at any cost because they had voted them to power in the recent elections and attached great expectations from them.

Speaking at a meeting, they said that the workers had played their role and it was now turn of the leaders to meet their genuine demands.

Fazal Hakim, president of paramedical association, chaired the meeting.
