Sindh police on Saturday arrested four people, including a serving deputy superintendent of police (DSP), and recovered 80 kilograms of hashish.

The police party in Badin, on a tip off, stopped a private vehicle at Hyderabad bypass road and recovered the drugs before arresting the occupants of the vehicle.

SHO Model Police Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi told Dawn that one of the accused identified as Moula Dad Rind, is a serving DSP in Quetta district according to his statement and documents.

The police official added that four separate FIRs had been registered against Rind, Mohammad Bilal Lashari, Nabi Bux Lashari, and Allah Dad Lashari on the complaint of DSP CIA Police Imdad Solangi under section 9C of the Narcotics Act.

He said further investigation was underway. Sindh police high-ups are in contact with their counterparts in Balochistan to know whether Rind was serving as a DSP in Quetta or in some other part of the province.
