Pakistan's Test captain Misbah ul Haq on Thursday wished the national One Day International (ODI) and T20 squad the best for the upcoming series against West Indies.

"Sarfaraz is a great captain, he is sensible and has done justice to his duties whenever he has captained any side," Misbah said, expressing confidence in the newly-appointed T20 and ODI captain.

While talking to DawnNews, Misbah said: "The team is quite well balanced and the conditions are also familiar to them, there is no reason for us to not perform well."

Regarding the recent spot-fixing scandal, Misbah chose to remain silent.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board needs to set up strict laws for such situations, players should already know that they would have no chance to make a come back if they are involved in any illegal activities," he offered.

When asked about his plans for the future, Misbah laughed and said, "I do have plans and everyone will know what they are very soon."

Pakistan will face West Indies in the first T20 on Sunday, March 26.
