QUETTA: Three personnel of the Frontier Corps and a civilian were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Sariab Road area on Wednesday.

According to police, the bomb went off when FC personnel were patrolling the Ziarat Bibi Nani area.

Three FC soldiers patrolling on foot and a pedestrian passing the area got injured. The injured were taken to the FC hospital.

“It was an IED in which 500 grams of explosives were used,” police said, adding that it appeared that the device had been detonated by remote control.

Lance Naik Muhammad Javed and Sepoys Qudratullah and Abdul Rauf of the FC were injured in the incident.
