Foundation University Rawalpindi campus (FURC) hosted an orientation ceremony for new students and their parents on Thursday.

FURC Director retired Brig Prof Dr Akhtar Nawaz Malik was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr Malik said he hoped the new students will take advantage of the facilities and opportunities provided by FURC and said the university has highly qualified faculty, modern computer labs, science labs, video conferencing facilities, seminar halls and conference rooms, a well-stocked library and sports facilities.

The rector of the university, retired Maj Gen Khadim Hussein addressed the gathering through a pre-recorded message in which he welcomed new students and advised them to focus on their studies and come up to their parents’ and the university’s expectations.

Faculty members and management staff were introduced to the students and they were given a tour of various departments and blocks on the campus.

FURC administrator retired Brig Shahid Jagir and FURC Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Nasim Akhtar Raja were also present on the occasion.
