SWABI: The body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered from Chota Lahor here on Saturday, said police.

Pasham Gul Khan, DSP Chota Lahor, said that they were informed by the locals that body of a boy was lying near Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, adding the police reached there soon afterwards.

He said identity of the boy could not be confirmed, adding efforts were underway to know about the cause of the killing and locate his family.

He said the boy was strangulated with a rope and later his body was thrown in the fields.

Meanwhile, Chota Lahor police claimed to have busted a gang of auto thieves. DSP Pasham Gul Khan said names of the arrested people could not be disclosed as police wanted to reach their other accomplices.

Gul Khan said the arrests came after a man Inayatullah Khan of Peshawar had registered an FIR in Chota Lahor police, saying that four people had snatched a truck from him at gunpoint while he was on way to Swabi.
