ISLAMABAD: Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz, who now holds charge as CDA chairman, has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of several officers.

According to sources, the mayor has decided to shuffle posts, particularly those in the Land and Estate Directorate.

CDA’s Land and Estate Directorate made headlines this year for the alleged corruption of its officers who colluded with property dealers.

“The mayor was briefed by officers he trusts about officers in the CDA who have earned a bad name and he directed for a list to be prepared to shuffle posts in all departments,” a CDA officer said.

When asked, Mayor Aziz confirmed that he planned to shuffle important posts.

“I have decided to form a new team which can help me make Islamabad a model city,” he said, adding that the shuffling may be conducted on Thursday.

He said the CDA only has Rs250 million in its account, which will not even be enough to pay the civic agency’s employees their salaries.
