The crackling chemistry between the famous ‘Humsafar’ pair Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan was rekindled on the screen once again, this time in a Pakistani commercial for Lux fragrances.

Mahira and Fawad display their on-screen intimacy for Lux’s luxury perfumes, the former donning a peach-colored gown, and the latter showing-off a classic beard and blue suit.

The exclusive behind the scenes (BTS) clips of the shoot opens with a jasmine flower unraveling the name of Lux in gold with the message, “brings you behind the scenes action”.

The perfume launched is jasmine scented.

The first BTS clip shows Fawad putting on his suit jacket, posing for a few shots, and then sharing light-hearted moments with the production crew with a coffee mug in his hand. The clip ends with his eyes shut, mesmerized by the fragrance of jasmine.

The last sequence captures the theme of the ad, which plays on the powerful nature of the sense of smell.

The second, more-detailed BTS clip starts of like the first. But, in the latter, Mahira is also introduced, and the clip incorporates a few scenes of the final ad to give a preview of what to expect.

It shows them both in a jovial, playful mood, which is another theme Lux focused on with this ad. The second clip is an extension of the first, giving more information about the nature of the product and the message being conveyed by Lux.

In it, Fawad is sitting on a chair with a book in hand, until Mahira walks up from behind and blindfolds him with a peach-colored cloth. He then tries to catch her, using only his sense of smell.

The complete advert, which can be found on Lux’s social media pages, focuses on the fragrance of jasmine as the hottest one of the season, is sensual and seductive, showing Fawad and Mahira in a light-hearted mood and Mahira trying to seduce her man. She does so by trying to grab his attention via the fragrance, which ends with them sharing a beautiful, intimate moment.

Their on-screen romance is apparent in the ad as well, which is what Lux sought to tap to promote their fragrances. Mahira’s gown, and Fawad’s suit fit the theme of the fragrance of jasmine, and its seductive scent.

The ad captures the narrative of the product after Mahira blindfolds Fawad, who still manages to track her down via the aroma of the perfume.

The tagline at the end, ‘bas zara sa Lux’, tells the audience and potential consumers that all it takes is a little bit of the jasmine perfume for the woman to win over her man’s heart.
