Nothing is more advantageous than experience. Director Syed Noor knows the difference between a movie and a TV serial. Therefore when he claims, as he has done in a chit chat with a journalist, that some of the Pakistani films which have lately been made cannot be called feature films; they are television serials with songs. We should pay heed to the director’s opinion. To be honest, he is right.

What perhaps he is trying to get at is that most of our film directors who are making movies come from the television industry, and it shows in their work. It has become all the more interesting to see Noor sahib’s next film against the backdrop of the revival of cinema hype. That being said, to know that he is thinking of casting Amir Liaquat in one of his forthcoming projects indicates he too is pretty inspired by the small screen. Small screen, big ideas.
