DACCA: The Chairman of the fourth meeting of the RCD Committee on Tourism, Mr Emin Hekimgil, indicated here today [April 29] that the tourist card to replace passport for travel within the three member countries of the RCD by their nationals, was likely to be introduced during the current year.

Addressing a Press Conference at the Cabinet Room of the Provincial Secretariat at the end of the two-day meeting of the Committee of Tourism, Mr Emin Hekimgil, who is also leader of the Turkish delegation, expressed the hope that effective steps would be taken to promote intra-regional tourism and encourage and facilitate travel by citizens of the member countries within the region.

The leader of the Iranian delegation, Dr Rezai, and the leader of the Pakistan delegation, Mr Masud Mahmood, also addressed the conference.

Mr Masud Mahmood expressed the hope that tangible results would be achieved for the development of intra-regional tourism. He thanked the Iranian and Turkish delegations for participating in the meeting.

Mr Emin Hekimgil said every national of the region must be conscious of tourism. He said in order to make tourism attractive, customs officials, policemen, shopkeepers, hotel owners and the Press should also be conscious of the importance of tourism.
